What are the NASET office hours?
A NASET representative can be reached between 10:30 a.m. until 6:30 p.m. EST.
What if I call after business hours?
NASET has a voice mailbox that is checked every evening. If you call after 6:30pm and need someone from NASET to reach you, leave a message in the NASET voice mailbox and someone from NASET will get back to you within 24 hours.
MEMBERSHIP
When does my NASET membership begin and end?
Your membership begins the moment NASET processes your application. If you registered for one year, your membership expires that same day, the following year. For example, if you joined on November 2, 2024, a 1 year membership would expire at 12:01 a.m. November 2, 2025 If you registered for two years, your membership expires that same day, two years later. For example, if you joined with a 2-year membership on September 10, 2024, your membership would expire at 12:01 a.m. September 10, 2026.
How do I know which membership is the right one for me?
NASET membership categories are very specific. After reviewing the different categories, it will hopefully be clear which type of membership is appropriate for you. However, if you are still unsure, contact us via email at membership@naset.org.

The membership categories that NASET has established are:
2024 Membership Special
NASET continues to offer the lowest membership fee for a professional association.
Special Education Teacher Membership- open to certified or licensed special education teachers.
$59.00 one year
$95.00 two years
Affiliate Membership - open to:
- Anyone interested in special education
- Certified or licensed teachers without a degree in special education working with children with special needs
- Inclusion classroom regular education teachers
- Paraprofessionals working with students with special needs
- Parents or relatives of children in special education

Professor Membership - open to college or university professors in the field of special education.

International Membership - open to any individual employed in the field of special education outside the United States

How long does it take to process my membership application?
Online memberships are processed immediately. You should receive a confirmation email very shortly after joining or renewing with NASET. Applications received via U.S. mail or fax are processed within the week received. You will receive an email confirmation from NASET when your application is processed and active.
Can I get a receipt for my dues payment?
Of course. You will get an immediate online receipt as soon as you register. You may also download a paid invoice, membership certificate and membership card by logging in to NASET, then go to the "Membership" area and look for the first item in the membership area "Membership Documents". Here you will find each of your above named membership documents for convenient downloading, saving and printing.
What are other ways that I can join or renew?

Can I renew my membership online?
Absolutely. Members can renew your membership, simply by logging in and going to the “Membership Extension / Renewal” menu choice under Membership menu. Members can renew their membership by simply completing the Renew My Membership form and submitting it to NASET. Renewal is immediate when completed online.
Additionally, Members may download a renewal form, complete the form and mail to the NASET Membership Department. Renewal Form - Click here
How do I change my personal information?
To change any personal information (e.g., address, phone number, email address), use the following directions:
1. Login to NASET
2. Go to the Membership area (use the menu bar and click on Membership)
3. Click on "Manage Profile & Membership Renewal"
4. Update/edit your personal information and upon completion click on "Update profile now!"
What happens if I can’t log in as a member?
If you have any problems with logging in, email us at membership@naset.org. We will respond to your concerns within 24 hours and try to take care of the problem immediately.
If I lose my Membership Card, what is the fee to replace it?
The membership card & membership certificates are available online. Just log in and go to the membership area and look for "Membership Documents" where you will be able to find and print a membership card & or membership certificate.
I forgot my user login and/or password. How can I access this information?
You can retrieve your Login information by using the the online automated Login Retrieval System. - Click Here
You will need to use the latest email address in the NASET database. The email address will be the latest update or the original email address used when you joined. The Login information will be emailed to this address.
If you are not successful using the automated system, please send an email to membership@naset.org or call us at 800-754-4421 ext 101.
I am a Student Member of NASET and I’ve recently been graduated and become a certified teacher, do I have to change my membership?
Yes and No-If you have been graduated, you may finish out your membership year as a student. Then, when time for renewal, you must register with the appropriate category.
NASET e-Publications
What e-Publications does NASET provide?
NASET’s publishes over 8 e-Publications monthly in addition to our weekly "Week in Review". To see all of the various e-publications, look in our Publications Menu from the Home page or Click Here. The list of e-Publications is contantly growing and as some series end, new ones are created to cover both new and old topics of interest. All e-Publications are available as HTML and downloadable PDF files. There are hundreds of e-Publications to read, both new and archived.
How often are e-Publications posted?
Typically, new issues are posted monthly throughout the school year for each of the latest e-Publications. Some e-Publications are in a series format with a limited run, as they are completed new series are created to replace these. In all cases there are complete archives for every issue of every e-Publication!
How are Members notified of new issues or new e-Publications?
Each week, NASET sends an emailed newsletter titled "Week in Review". Within this weekly emailed publication you will find the latest news in special educaton plus what's new on NASET, including a description and links to the latest e-Publication issues. Access the latest issues and all archived issues are available to NASET members 24 hours a day. All issues can be printed out from the PDF file, if you desire. Additionally the Week in Review is posted on NASET in the Publications area of the website.
