New Story Throop

Description:

New Story schools are private schools, licensed by the Pennsylvania Department of Education. We offer emotional support and autistic support classrooms for children ages 5 to 21 years with serious and complex educational and behavioral challenges. Students come to New Story when they are no longer reaching their potential in the public school setting,
New Story has strong relationships with local school districts. We work closely with the district to find the best educational and behavioral programs for each student referred to us.

A referral for placement can be made at any time. Students do not have to begin at the start of a calendar period or quarter, but can be enrolled anytime at New Story.

Together, the Individual Education Program (IEP) team determines the educational placement of a student. We work collaboratively with the school district in order to decide if New Story will meet a child’s academic and behavioral needs.

Funding for the student’s educational placement will be arranged through the home school district along with transportation services.   If deemed medically necessary, children attending New Story schools may also receive behavioral health services funded through the Medical Assistance Program and/or private insurance.
