Organization Level Responsibilities:

  • Monitors compliance with IDEA, ADA, OCR, CRDC, and other relevant Special Education and/or English learner regulations for the purpose of ensuring ECS schools are in compliance with federal and state regulations.
  • Assist in the updating of all policies and procedures for ECS that adheres to mandates pertaining to English learners and students with disabilities
  • Lead and mentor  ELD and Special Education teams for ECS schools
  • Facilitate data collection and reporting for state documentation and internal program assessment
  • Lead and assist in the planning and delivery of professional development on Universal Design for Learning, Special Education topics, 504 Plans, Response to Intervention,English Learner Roadmap, SDAIE & EL Strategies.
  • Use data analysis  and work collaboratively with Directors to recommend and implement changes to ECS special education and ELD programs as needed
  • Oversee testing protocols and training for site staff to ensure effective and compliant testing of students with disabilities and English learners


  • Clear California teaching credential including English Learner authorization (CLAD, BCLAD, ELD or Bilingual Certificate of Competence authorization required)
  • Minimum of 3 years successful full time classroom teaching experience
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and administrators
  • Commitment to the success of all students and the ECS mission, vision, and values
  • BTSA, instructional coaching, or other mentor training and experience preferred
  • Experience with and affinity for co-teaching and Universal Design for Learning
  • Demonstrated experience planning and facilitating professional development programs for teachers, instructional assistants, and/or administrators
  • Commitment to the success of all students and the ECS mission, vision, and values
