Position:

Special Education Faculty--Tenure Track

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

Teaching responsibilities will include undergraduate and graduate special education and related assessment courses as well as courses within the candidate’s area of expertise. The standard teaching load is 12 credit hours per semester where each course is 4 credits. Opportunities for summer contracts to teach additional courses may also be available. The candidate will be responsible for maintaining oversight to ensure special education course coherence among full-time and adjunct instructors and evaluate transfer courses related to the program. Related responsibilities include maintaining office hours, advising and mentoring students, scholarly research (especially that which engages students in research experience), student outreach, and developing and maintaining competence with web-assisted teaching technology.

Requirements:

Qualified candidates will have a Ph.D. or Ed.D. in education with a focus on special education. The ideal candidate will have teaching experience and evidence of scholarship.
