Responsible for planning, implementing, and evaluating instructional activities for special education students. Create a flexible class environment favorable to learning and personal growth; establish effective rapport with students; motivate students to develop skills, attitudes, and knowledge in accordance with each student’s ability; and establish good relationships with parents and other staff members. Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university.

• A valid Colorado Teaching Certificate endorsed in area of assignment.

• Must be Highly Qualified by CDE's standards in Special Education.

• Endorsed in Special Education - OR - - PLACE Special Education Generalist exam

• Such alternatives to the above as the Board may find appropriate.

Salary:

Certified salary is based upon degree status and years of experience. Horizontal advancements are based upon "Graduate" level credits and staff development hours obtained after the last degree was conferred. One year of credit will be provided for each year of approved outside teaching experience up to a maximum of sixteen (16) years (earned within the past 16 years). There are district and employee contributions to some or most of these benefits. Employment Period: 186 days per year
