Centenary College of Louisiana invites applications for the position of Coordinator of Academic and Disability Services. This is a full-time, twelve-month position. Reporting to the Director of the Center for Teaching and Learning, the Coordinator will work closely with the College’s student success team and faculty to coordinate academic support and disability services in accordance with the ADA and in support of Centenary’s mission to prepare global citizens to live productive lives of vitality and purpose.
To fulfill the responsibilities of this position, the Coordinator of Academic and Disability Services will:
Work with individual students connecting them with appropriate support resources;
Orient students toward their role as a self-advocate for services;
Assist students in receiving reasonable ADA accommodations and act as a resource for faculty regarding student academic and disabilities accommodations, including education on related College and Federal policies and procedures;
Participate actively as a member of the student success team;
Collaborate with Student Development as needed;
Maintain data and records needed for monthly and annual reports;
Train and supervise student employees, including student workers and peer consultants.

Minimum requirements for this position include:
A Master's degree and three years of experience related to academic and disability support, or Bachelor's degree and five years of related experience;
Knowledge of and appreciation for diverse cultures and familiarity with liberal arts education;
Good communication skills and the ability to work with a diverse group of people, especially young adults;
Being well organized, self-motivated, and able to plan and execute projects;
Computer skills, including learning management systems and retention data tracking.
Preferred qualifications include:
Master's degree in in Higher Education, Education, Special Education, or Psychology or a related field;
Prior experience in academic and student support;
Understanding of the social and legal issues that impact services for students with disabilities in higher education, including In-depth knowledge of the American Disabilities Act of 1990 (ADA), and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act;
Ability to analyze data strategically in order to assess program and student needs;
Proficiency in mentoring, guiding and and/or coaching college students;
Experience at a selective, residential, liberal arts college.
