Avondale House

Description:

Avondale House is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit United Way agency that recognizes each individual with autism has unique strengths and needs and utilizes various training strategies to support their different learning styles. We specialize in working with children and adults who are profoundly impacted by this disorder, and implement effective plans to promote positive changes in those we serve. Our day school program, adult day program and residential group home services are designed to nurture individuals on the spectrum throughout the course of their lives, while helping them reach their fullest potential.

Students/Disabilities Served:

Our day school is approved by the Texas Education Agency (TEA) and accredited by the Texas Alliance of Accredited Private Schools (TAAPS) for educating students ages 3-21 with multiple disabilities. We specifically focus on servicing students with a primary diagnosis of autism/PDD-NOS and multiple secondary diagnoses.

Services Provided:

Students are referred to Avondale House from 17 Houston area school districts through the ARD process. There is also a private admission option.
