WHO WE ARE

Ferncliff Manor is residential school program that is dedicated to serving the needs of people with developmental disabilities, supporting their families, and cultivating excellent relationships with the community to help realize the best possible outcomes for all. Our unique and dynamic organization has an extensive history of providing outstanding service and supports to individuals with the most complex and intensive needs. Our ongoing professional development process ensures that we remain at the cutting edge of new developments and provides our personnel with the resources needed to advance our mission, vision, and philosophy now - and in the years to come.

By utilizing innovative, research-based, individual-centered strategies, we strive to enable each person to learn, develop independence in basic life skills, and enjoy a personally rewarding life.

Our vision is rooted in our belief that all people deserve respect, support, and opportunity. With the coordinated efforts of our adaptive and integrative residential school, our comprehensive medical and rehabilitative service departments, our community-based recreation programs, and our outreach training and support services, Ferncliff Manor envisions and delivers a quality of service that exceeds the highest standards in the field.

Our philosophy is based upon understanding that all persons can continue to grow, develop, and benefit greatly from a high quality, effective, and comprehensive individualized program. We believe that an individual's progress and achievement must be viewed from the perspective of his/ her own unique, individual endowments and potentialities. Furthermore, we believe that people who have disabilities can and must participate in the life of the community, and we see our efforts contributing importantly to the understanding, appreciation, and acceptance of persons with disabilities into the mainstream of community life.
