Spring Run School

Description

Spring Run School is CEA's NJ-certified private secondary school serving students with autism and multiple disabilities. Spring Run is now a full year program with the summer 2014 Extended School Year running from July 1 through August 29th.

Spring Run School goals are to teach students self-awareness, resiliency, and accountability. We assist our students in the acquisition of life skills crucial to achieving success in the world after graduation. We also instruct our students on how to build on their strengths and adapt to their disabilities. Our Activities of Daily Living (ADL) area is used to help teach and enhance life/daily living and socialization/communication skills.

Spring Run School serves students ages 13 to 21 with autism and multiple disabilities.

Services Provided

The full year program includes individualized academic instruction, physical education, art / ceramics, life skills, financial literacy, vocational instruction with job coaching, sensory room, and weekly extended classroom experiences. Spring Run features an Activities of Daily Living (ADL) area, where students can practice washing, drying, ironing and folding clothes, cooking, table/menu preparation, washing and drying of dishes, making a bed, and other self-sufficiency activities. A variety of off-campus experiences facilitate social skills and encourage community participation.
