Eligibility Criteria for Children with ASD

The criteria used in determining the eligibility of a student for special education under the classification of Autism may vary from state to state, district to district, textbook to textbook or person to person. Consequently, this may lead to confusion of about which criteria should be used to determine the classification of Autism so that the child may receive the appropriate special education services. The purpose of this issue of the Autism Spectrum Disorder Series is to provide useful guidelines in this confusing area known as eligibility criteria for the classification of Autism.
